Cadet Colorguard Regionals

FORT PICKETT, VA— On September 25 and 26, the Raleigh-Wake Composite Squadron travelled to Fort Pickett, VA for the Middle East Region Cadet Competition. The team had to compete against several other color guards from around the region in multiple events including the Cadet Physical Fitness Test, the Written Exam, Indoor posting of the colors, Outdoor posting of the colors, a spot inspection, and a Team Leadership problem. Cadets also participated in elective events. Prepared speeches, impromptu speeches, and jeopardy were introduced to the competition this year. The team’s victory makes them the top seed to represent the region at the National Cadet Competition over the new years holiday at Maxwell AFB, Alabama. After the awards ceremony, C/Maj Browning said  “This was a great opportunity for our team and also a great challenge, Our team has a lot of work to put in before the National Competition, but we are very confident in our ability to be the first North Carolina team to win NCC in over a decade.” The National Cadet Competition will begin December 27th, 2015.
